2017 Stanley Park Halloween Ghost Train: Alien Invasion {Events}

Stanley Park Ghost Train

Stanley Park Ghost Train

Prepare to be delightfully spooked by one of Vancouver’s most anticipated Halloween events happening again, with an alien twist! Each year the Stanley Park Ghost Train takes  riders on a journey through a mystical and magical world, themed by Halloween and other creepy tales all while maintaining a family friendly environment that is sure to spook (and thrill!) the entire family.

Are you ready for an Alien Invasion that’s out of this world? Join agents as they investigate a spaceship crash landing right in the middle of Stanley Park! Journey into restricted zones as you ride the popular Ghost Train to unravel the mystery of our unexpected park visitors.

The full train ride experience lasts 13 minutes and forty seconds, but the magical world continues around the grounds! Be prepared to treat yourself to the stellar sounds of a 5-piece rock band, visit the very secretive Area 52, ride through a star field tunnel of lasers, and join us for the slow reveal of the twelve foot greys and much more including;

Area 52 – The very secretive happenings in Area 52 are open all operating hours, during matinee and evenings. Enjoy this fun, indoor addition to our family friendly event featuring face painting, crafts and movies.

Creatures of the Night – presented by Stanley Park Ecology Society (SPES) Running in conjunction with the Stanley Park Ghost Train, Creatures of the Night is a free, family-friendly experience. Our Creature Feature tent in the Ghost Train plaza area offers hands-on activities for all ages and is staffed by friendly volunteers ready to teach you about alien plants and other bizarre creatures that inhabit Stanley Park.

Pumpkin Patch – Can’t ever have too many jack-o-lanterns. Visit our pumpkin patch where $5 buys you a pumpkin to take home.

Food Bank Donations –  When you visit Ghost Train, please give generously to our partner charity, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. Bring your non-perishable food items for the food bank.

Costume Contest – We will be holding a costume contest on October 24 in the picnic tent for kids 17 and under. There will be prizes awarded for best costume in each age group.

Live Music – On Friday & Saturday nights, the Ghost Train plaza will feature live music from a stellar 5-piece rock band to get train passengers in the mood for some spooky extra-terrestrial fun.

Food Vendors – Get fuelled for your Ghost Train experience! We’re teaming up with some amazing food vendors to offer a variety of delights available in the plaza. New this year, Old Country Pierogis’ Polish comfort food will keep everyone warm and happy, whether it’s a warming bowl of hunter’s stew or a big plate of pierogis. Insomniac’s Coffee will be serving up their specialty coffee concoctions for moms and dads while the kids will have a hard time choosing between Dayglo cotton candy and the out-of-this-world Galaxy candy apples from A Sweet Mind. The Crop Circle Café and Canteen will feature perennial favourites on their menus as well as some new baked treats for Halloween, and no train ride is complete without a bag of delicious organic popcorn from the CobHouse. Food vendors will be open for both matinee and evening show times.
