2 years ago, when I went to Las Vegas for my very first time (I know.. sigh), I made it my personal goal to take in as many Cirque du Soleil shows as I could squeeze into my weekend. I didn’t care what we missed, how much it cost, nada, I was seeing my shows! I was lucky enough to squeeze in 2 amazing, breathtaking, unforgettable shows that to this day absolute blow my mind.
I’m also lucky enough to live in Vancouver, and Cirque’s crisp blue and yellow striped tents are a regular staple along the water next to Science World. You can’t miss them as you zip by on the skytrain, or check out the local Canucks games. They draw you in, into a world of magic, into a visually stunning live setting full of wonder and amazing displays.
TORUK – The First Flight is a live immersive multimedia spectacle that brings to the stage the breathtaking world of James Cameron’s AVATAR like you have never seen it before.
This live immersive experience also bears the distinct signature of directors and multimedia innovators Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon. It is a living ode to the Na’vi’s symbiotic coexistence with nature and their belief in the basic interconnectedness of all living things.
Narrated by a “Na’vi Storyteller” and populated by unforgettable characters, TORUK – The First Flight is a mythical tale set thousands of years before the events depicted in the film AVATAR, and before any humans ever set foot on Pandora.
I am insanely excited for this show, Avatar was one of the very first movies that I actually LINED UP to see. I’m not a premiere person, I’m not a huge fan of crowds but this one had to be seen on the big screen. Now, you can enjoy the beautiful visually stunning world of Pandora in a whole new way, from the incredible Cirque du Soleil costumes their productions are so well known for, to the incredible set displays that leave you in awe down to the wonderfully weaved story.. We hope you’ll join us on this adventure.
