There is something so magical about being able to share Disney classics with my daughter, growing up I was obsessed with certain flicks and have amazing memories surrounding family movie nights with my mom, popcorn and treats in hand as we sang along to some of our Disney favourites. Suffice to say, when a favourite comes out of the vault or is released on Blu-Ray and DVD, I snap it up pretty quickly to add to our collection for my “daughter”… or maybe me, probably me…..Â
If there is one thing (and of course there is like a dozen, but let’s focus on one) that Disney movies do well, it’s music – each and every Disney movie has a song that makes you fall in love with the story and Pinocchio is no different, it is considered one of the greatest animated films ever made, having won two Academy Awards – for best original score and best original song for one of my favourites – “When You Wish Upon a Star” and to boast a little bit further, it’s also received a super rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
If you haven’t had a chance to watch this iconic tale, or don’t remember much of it from your childhood – Pinocchio tells the tale of a wood-carver Geppetto’s beloved puppet who embarks on a thrilling question with his faithful and forever friend Jiminy Cricket, follow Pinocchio on a tale of wonder as the Blue Fairy grants one special wish that leads them on an adventure that tests his bravery , loyalty and honesty, all virtues he must learn to fulfill his heart’s and his father’s desire: to become a real boy.
