When kids are little, it’s pretty easy to rock the birthday parties. Balloons and a lot of cake can go a long way! As they get older though it gets to be a little bit more of a challenge to make that special day just a little bit more special. Cue the blowing up balloons the night before while they sleep to fill their bedroom, hanging up a streamer hallway for them to burst through, planning the party that is just different enough from the last year to feel special, ordering the giant themed cakes…. sound familiar?
WE get it, and thankfully so does Netflix! Starring some well known characters from many favourite shows including DreamWorks All Hail King Julien, Barbie, Beat Bugs, DreamWorks Dinotrux, Legend Quest, LEGO Friends, LEGO Ninjago, Luna Petunia, My Little Pony, Pokemon, Project Mc2, Skylanders Academy, DreamWorks Trollhunters and Word Party. These game-changing featurettes are going to help you (and me) hack the next Birthday by making a certain little person feel super special.
I know first hand what stresses me out the most is comparing parties, being the perfect host and making sure the kids have a blast and I’m not alone! Nearly 44% of parents around the world feel the pressure to be “party perfect”, I’ve been known to go a little overboard (just ask any of my friends…) and now, Netflix is making it a little bit easier on all of us.

Though completely unrelated to birthday’s, a show that has been making waves in our house lately (since we don’t have any Birthday’s until June!) is a magical little yellow bus that many of us probably remember from when we were growing up! Ms. Frizzle was one of my favourite characters when I was little and I have to say I am pretty stoked that she’s back and better than ever!
Bus, do your stuff! Kids can now enjoy The Magic School Bus for a new generation with The Magic School Bus Rides Again, now available on Netflix! With Lily Tomlin reprising her original role as “Professor Frizzle” and Kate McKinnon taking over the keys to the bus as her sister, the re-imagining of the beloved animated science-comedy series features a brand new set of out-of-this-world field trips and adventures. Plus, with a theme song performed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, it’s a show jingle I’m not likely to get sick of as quickly….. right parents?
