Recently Tara and I were invited to attend the launch party for a new product by Easy Daysies and you could say I was a little excited. Â I remembered seeing creator and founder Elaine Tan Comeau on Dragon’s Den pitching her product Easy Daysies a few years back. Her customizable magnetic schedules not only reduce anxiety and foster independence in children with a visual representation of their day, but they incited a bidding war between all five Dragons!
Clearly this was something to get excited about. Since her appearance on Dragon’s Den, Elaine and Easy Daysies has gone on to appear on several news segments and talk shows and has won numerous awards including a PTPA Media Award, a 2013 Teacher’s Choice Award and recently the 2014 MOMpreneur® Award of Excellence.
Now Elaine, a CEO, teacher and mom of three, is back with a brand new product to help make home life run a little smoother. A Peek At Our Family’s Week is the perfect spot to see your family’s schedule and more at a glance. A sturdy magnetic  dry erase board with a rounded cornered frame, A Peek At Our Family’s Week comes in a neutral colour that would look great in any kitchen or study, and is easily hung on the wall for quick viewing access.
It has rows set for up to four family members (though they could be divided for more) with a column for each day to write in activities or appointments going on that week. My daughter has choir and voice lessons every Thursday for most of the school year, so that will stay put – no need to write in on the standard calendar for every week. Anything that is changing can be easily erased at the end of the week with the eraser top on the included dry erase marker, and the marker itself can be stored on the magnetic board.
It also features a daily meal plan! As soon as hubby hung our calendar, the questions about what was for dinner ceased. And, while I still get asked multiple times WHEN it will be ready, at least they know what they are waiting for and I know ahead of time what I’m going to make. No more 5pm dinner scramble over here! Knowing what we will be having each night for a week makes grocery planning so much easier and money is being spent on things we need and will use.
Easy Daysies takes that a step further and has included a shopping list pad that is already divided into food groups/grocery aisles to save time in the grocery store! This writing pad is magnetic and therefore removable to make writing easier, it can be moved to the fridge, counter, wherever you like to write and store your list. Removing it leaves a bit more extra note space on the calendar as well. Included are 54 pages allowing for a full year of weekly shops, plus a couple extra for mistakes. They have thought of everything, refills are available too!
A Peek at Our Family’s Week has a couple other features worth noting. On the front, there is a square for jotting down quick notes, phone numbers etc with the message to ‘Always Be Kind’, a gentle yet loving reminder for everyone in the family. On the back…is a secret pocket! I can’t be the only mom who has lost things like invitations, tickets, permission slips and coupons. I put them up in a ‘safe’ spot, and then panic at the last minute when I can’t remember where my safe spot is! It is a pet peeve of my husband’s, and I’m happy to say A Peek at Our Week Calendar had our answer. Now when important things come into the house they go right in the back of my calendar in a see through sturdy pocket.
All these little time savers add up to more time spent where it is needed most. With my family.
A Peek at Our Family’s Week is not only designed for parents but are loved by grandparents and child care providers too. Knowing at a glance when your grand kids have an important practice and games is a great way to never miss a chance to watch , and everyone can benefit from meal planning at your fingertips. I could also see this working well in group homes and other situations where daily tasks may be assigned to multiple people.
My family has definitely enjoyed having A Peek At Our Family’s Week and you can too!

First meal to plan would have to be something Mexican. Taco’s maybe, with extra avocado for snacking.

I like that you can see the whole week ahead of time!
When I first saw the easy daisies lady on Dragon’s Den, I was so ticked off at myself for not being a more ambitious person, because I had been doing the exact same thing on my fridge for years! I called it the “fridgedule” and it was made out of construction paper. Plus, she’s even from my hometown! But hers were much more beautiful than mine, and good for her for going for it! I’d LOVE this weekly schedule!
I’d love to win this weekly schedule! We are desperate for it around here, actually. Which reminds me… what’s for dinner?
I looooove this! I love that it has a dry erase board and also has the paper tear away grocery lists. SO convenient!
